‘What I love about Gymnastics’ COMPETITION – FEBRUARY/MARCH 2021
Throughout February and March we will be running a creative competition entitled ‘What I love Most About Gymnastics’. We would like to you either:
- Draw or print out and colour a picture or
- Make a collage / scrapbook page
showing what you love best about gymnastics. Then either you (or your parents for younger ones) need to write a short paragraph saying what you love best about gymnastics and why.
Make sure you put your name on the front, along with your age and what Springbucks venue you usually train at then send it in to Ruth Middleton, 11 The Croft, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 4BA by 20th March 2021
The entries will go up in the Springbucks office and will also be displayed when we return to training and winners will be selected for each age group and prizes given out by the end of March/early April.
UPCOMING COMPETITIONS: We are currently unsure when we will be able to run large competitions again but are looking into possibly running a virtual competition in the summer when gymnast can get out into their gardens to practice and video their routines so watch this space!
Our Annual Squad 4 Piece Competition is cancelled this year as it usually runs in July
Springbucks Gymnastics Club Annual Championships – Floor and Vault Competition 2021
This is a friendly and relaxed in house competition that we run once a year for all gymnasts in Year 1 and over. It is a great chance for our gymnasts to experience competition within their sport but in an encouraging and nurturing environment. All gymnasts will be learning a competition floor routine this term as part of their ongoing training.
CAFE: Please note that the HYC Cafe will be open from 8.30am for cold and hot food and drinks through out the day.
Venue: Hazlemere Youth Centre, Rose Avenue, Hazlemere HP15 7UB
Times: you should have had an email on Monday 24th February confirming your child’s competition time
Please note – please arrive 10 minutes before your round is due to start so that your gymnast can get changed and go to the toilet so they are ready to start as soon as we dismiss the gymnasts from the previous round.
Round 1: 8.30am – 9.30am – YEAR 1 Level 10 (No entry into the hall will be allowed until 8.25am at the earliest)
Round 2: 9.30am – 11.30am – YEAR 2 Level 10
Round 3: 11.30 – 1.30pm – YEARS 3 – 6 LEVEL 10
Round 4: 1.30pm – 4.00pm – Years 3 – 7+ LEVELS 9 & 8
WHAT TO WEAR:
Boys need to wear shorts and a Springbucks T-shirt, girls can wear a leotard and shorts, or shorts and a Springbucks T-shirt. All shorts must be above the knee so that the judges can check properly for straight legs during performance.
No flash photograph allowed during the competition as too many flashes distracts the gymnasts, you may use your flash during the medals ceremony or ask them to pose for a photograph at the end. We also would ask that you do not post any photographs that may have other children in them on the web, even if those children are just in the background of the shot and do not include any children’s names in photos that you may post.
