UPCOMING COMPETITIONS:
Springbucks Gymnastics Club Annual Championships – Floor and Vault Competition 2024
This is a friendly and relaxed in house competition that we run once a year for all gymnasts that attend our weekly sessions. It is a great chance for our gymnasts to experience competition within their sport but in an encouraging and nurturing environment. All gymnasts in school years 1 and above will be learning a competition floor routine through the summer term as part of their ongoing training.
Date: Sunday 9th June, 2024
Venue: Hazlemere Youth Centre, Rose Avenue, Hazlemere HP15 7UB
Times: the timings below are just an estimate and may change depending on numbers of gymnasts who sign up in each school year
Please note – please arrive 10 minutes before your round is due to start so that your gymnast can get changed and go to the toilet so they are ready to start as soon as we dismiss the gymnasts from the previous round.
Round 1: 8.00 – 9.15am – Year 1 Level 10 (No entry into the hall will be allowed until 8.00am)
Round 2: 9.15 – 10.30am – YEAR 2 Level 10
Round 3: 10.30 – 12 – YEAR 3 LEVEL 10
Round 4: 12 – 1.30pm Years 4 – 6 LEVEL 10
Round 5: 1.30 – 3.30pm SQUAD GYMNASTS – Years 2 – 4 (Level 9 & 10)
Round 6: 3.30 – 5.30pm SQUAD GYMNASTS Year 5+ (Level 9 & 8)
WHAT TO WEAR:
Boys need to wear shorts and a Springbucks T-shirt, girls can wear a leotard and shorts, or shorts and a Springbucks T-shirt. All shorts must be above the knee so that the judges can check properly for straight legs during performance.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
No flash photograph allowed during the competition as too many flashes distracts the gymnasts, you may use your flash during the medals ceremony or ask them to pose for a photograph at the end. We also would ask that you do not post any photographs that may have other children in them on the web, even if those children are just in the background of the shot and do not include any children’s names in photos that you may post.
We are trying to arrange for a professional photography company to come along and take photos at the event that parents will then be able to look at and buy on the day if they would like to. We are also hoping to be able to use some of these photos taken to update our website and promotional materials. Please indicate when you sign your child up whether you are happy for them to have photographs taken at the event or not.
