VOLUNTEERING
As a community sports club we welcome volunteers and as a sport gymnastics depends heavily on volunteers and on training up young teenagers and parents to become coaches. If you are interested in coming along to help out with any of our club sessions, either for gymnastics or trampolining, or in training up as a coach please contact Ruth on 07581384176 or springbucksgc@gmail.com
A big thank you to the many individuals who help with sessions every week!
TRAINEE COACH PROGRAMME
At Springbucks Gymnastics Club we are passionate about training up new coaches. We find coaching gymnastics to be a challenging and rewarding experience and we love introducing young people into sports leadership in a positive and supportive environment.
Who is it for? Our trainee coach programme is aimed at those in the early years of secondary school who enjoy working with young children and preferably have some personal experience training in either gymnastics, trampolining, cheer, dance or acro.
How does it work? Trainee coaches start out attending classes as gymnast demonstrators, able to observe our coaches and learn from them and give technically correct demonstrations under the coaches supervision when asked to do so.
When old and experienced enough they graduate on to do our 2 day in house training course.
Our in house training course consolidates what you are learning in the gym and builds up your coaching and supporting experience and ability. For those who are 14 years old and do well on this course there is the option to attend an external IGA Level 1 Assistant Coach Qualification. The cost to the individual coach for their Level 1 is £100 and the club pays the rest of the course fee.
For those over 14 who have passed their Level 1 course, there is the option of paid employment with Springbucks as and when coaching positions come up and we always look to recruit our junior coaches in house.
